Brief itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in St. Petersburg

Arrival in St.Petersburg.
Meet the driver at the railway terminal or airport.
Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. St. Petersburg. Peter and Paul Fortress, the Hermitage

Meals B

Breakfast at the hotel.
~09:00 - Meet local English-speaking guide in the lobby of the hotel.
Tour of St.Petersburg by car, including the visit to Peter and Paul Fortress.
~14:00 – 17:00 – Walking tour of the Hermitage museum.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. St. Petersburg. Pushkin, Cathderals

Meals B

Breakfast at the hotel.
~09:00 - Meet the guide in the lobby of the hotel. Transfer to the town of Pushkin.
~10:00 – Visit to Catherine's palace, including the Amber room. Visit the Catherine’s Park.
~15:00 – Return to the city.
~15:30 – 19:00 – Guided tour of the cathedrals of St. Petersburg including the Church on the Spilled Blood, St.Isaac Cathedral, Church of Our Lady of Kazan. Boat trip along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4. St. Petersburg. Peterhof

Breakfast at the hotel.
~09:00 - Meet the guide in the lobby of the hotel. Transfer to the town of Peterhof by car (or hydrofoil).
~10:00 – Visit to Grand Palace of Peterhof. Visit the Lower garden of Peterhof with the beautiful fountains.
~15:00 – Return to the city center.
Optional theatre.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5. Departure from St. Petersburg

Transfer to the railway terminal or airport.

This is one of the most famous St. Petersburg attractions. It had been the winter residence for emperors of Russia since the end of the 18th century till the revolution of 1917. The Hermtage, one of the biggest museums of the world, is in the same architectural ensemble.

The fortress was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 on Zayachy island, which is located on the Neva River.

St. Isaac's Cathedral

Peterhof (Petrodvorets) is a former summer residence of Russian Tzars. Peterhof Park and fountains are particulary beautiful.

This trip is operated daily from May till September.

We are now back at our home in Wales after travelling on from St Petersburg to Turkey for some (more) sunshine.
