~07:00 (~09:05) - Arrival in Petrozavodsk by train from St. Petersburg (Moscow). Meet the guide at the train station. City walking tour.
The guide will provide vouchers for the trip to Kizhi.
~11:30 - Departure for the Island of Kizhi, located in Lake Onego (by hydrofoil, without guide).
~12:45 - Arrival at the Island, meet the Museum guide there.
~13:00 - Walking tour to the open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture Kizhi - Churches of the Transfiguration, Intercession, chapels and traditional wooden houses.
~16:45 - Departure back for Petrozavodsk.
~18:00 - Return to Petrozavodsk.
Independent time in Petrozavodsk until the evening train.
~20:05 (~22:50) - Departure from Petrozavodsk by overnight train for Moscow (St. Petersburg).
Petrozavodsk is a nice city with several interesting sights and a perfect starting point for the trips to Kizhi and other cultural and nature landmarks of Karelia.
The island of Kizhi in Lake Onego is famous for the biggest world ensemble of wooden architecture - Kizhi Museum. It is enlisted in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
