Teriberka

The village of Teriberka is located on the Barents Sea coast, northeast of Murmansk.

The village of Teriberka is located on the Barents Sea coast, 130 km northeast of Murmansk. This Arctic village is currently the only place at the coast accessible by road and opened for foreigners. Other locations belong to restricted military areas.

The road to Teriberka goes through the forest tundra and bare tundra. Frequent snow storms make it difficult or impossible to get through in winter. In summer and especially in autumn the landscapes along the road are spectacular.

Nowadays there are about 900 inhabitants in Teriberka. Many of buildings are abandoned. The village has become a popular tourist destination after the Russian movie "Leviathan" was partly filmed there.

There are a few accommodation options and a decent fish restaurant located by the coast.
