Discover the Nenets Culture Tour

Arrival in St. Petersburg or Moscow. Meet at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
Flight to Naryan-Mar, the capital of Nenets Region located in the Arctic tundra to the north from the Polar Circle.
Transfer to the hotel in Naryan-Mar.
Evening tour to the village of Nenets shaman.
Dinner including traditional local meals - reindeer, berries, stroganina frozen fish.
Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer by snowmobiles (on snowmobile sledges) or by offroad vehicles to the camp of Nenets reindeer breeders in 30-50 km from Naryan-Mar (about 2 hours).
Meet nomad Nenets people, learn about their way of life, traditions, chum (teepee) lodges, ride reindeer sledges.
Lunch and dinner in chum.
Weather dependent, we may observe Aurora Borealis which is frequient in this area in frosty nights.
Overnight in chum.

Ice-fishing trip (~10 km from the camp).
Lunch in chum.
Transfer back to Naryan-Mar.
Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer by bus to the village of Krasnoe (~1 hour).
Visit to the local workshop, practising traditional handicrafts such as making things of fur and reindeer skin.
Lunch.
Walking tour of the village and visit of the local museum.
Folklore show - traditional Nenets music, songs and dance.
Transfer back to Naryan-Mar with a photo stop in the tundra. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport, flight to Moscow or St. Petersburg.
